Creating beautiful hair
in North Devon since 2002.
Jo has been doing my hair for the last 15 years and I never go anywhere else. She cuts, colours and styles it just the way I like it and is always on top of the latest trends. I would highly recommend Jo, she's amazing.
Jo has done amazing with my hair, it looks and feels lush. The most comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I had a very chilled few hours, a good giggle and a lovely coffee with a treat. I'm really happy and thankful.
Wonderful experience today and felt that finally, after years of trying to find someone who understands the style of hair I want, she instantly captured this. Beautiful and relaxing surroundings and lovely host. Couldn't recommend enough.

it happens by appointment"
COVID-19 SALON PROCEDURES
We have all been affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Hair by Jo Holton way is to make sure I'm thorough when it comes to both mine and your safety. I hope you find this information useful as it is important for us all.
My top priority is to keep you as safe as possible and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. Whilst the salon was closed I completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have since made a number of changes in the way that Hair by Jo Holton operates.
If I feel ill of have symptoms of COVID-19, I will self-isolate immediately and will not come into the salon. This might result in cancellation of your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book.
If you or anyone else in your household feel ill or display any symptoms of COVID-19 please advise me as soon as possible and
DO NOT COME INTO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.
VISITING THE SALON
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointment as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for your appointment as this may mean you coming into contact with other clients who are just leaving.
I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, door handles, and the toilet area etc are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client/every hour.
All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers' instructions for your safety.
Face masks MUST be worn. If you do forget your face mask, I have some for sale in the salon for £2.
Upon arrival at the salon, you will have access to antibacterial hand gel. There is hot water and antibacterial hand wash in the toilet with a disposable towel.
I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60deg. All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client / every day.
I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and I am confident that we can continue to provide these safely. If I decide that certain treatments cannot be provided until further notice I will contact you immediately.
DURING YOUR TREATMENT
I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.
Unfortunately I will not be offering drinks until it is safe to do so and would advise you bring a bottle of drink with you.
I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to satisfy you.
AFTER THE TREATMENT
In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer it if you could pay for your treatment by card or in advance using bank transfer.
All of these procedures have been implemented for yours and my safety. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thanks for your understanding.
